Having Fun with Forced Perspective

For this project, we chose a toy which we placed close to the camera. Then we got our classmates to stand in the distance so that they appear the same size as our toy.


All these pictures displayed in the gallery above were taken using Forced Perspective, a photography technic in which the subjects and camera are placed in such a way where when the picture is taken it appears something which is usually small the same size as the person in the shot. This forced perspective illusion is accomplished by altering some of the settings used on the camera shooting the picture. The ISO is set to 800, the aperture should be +32 or +36, the camera's shutter speed depends on your specific shot and whether u are indoors or outdoors, and by making sure your meter is centered. Both subjects should be manually be focused for the affect to take place.
